The Problem |
- Corrosion of the fore and aft peaks had been an ongoing
problem
- Upper Lakes Ltd was looking for a high performance
marine coating system, which required little maintenance
after application
- A minimum five year warranty was stipulated
- ThistleBond was approached for an advanced
polymer solution
- 152 SFE AS was recommended on account of its Lloyd’s
Approval and ThistleBond customer referrals

- The surface to be coated was hydroblasted
to St2-St3
- The blasted surface was degreased using ThistleBond
Cleaner/Degreaser (TAC 883)
- One coat of 152 SFE AS (TL 503) was applied by airless
spray
- A product warranty of five years was given
